Witches: A Book Or Character That Is Magical

th (20)The Inquisitor’s Tale. I mean what is more magical then three magical children and their saintly dog. I mean there is a dog that is a saint. And kids who are saints!!!! Pretty much everyone that is important to the story is a saint or an angel.  So I loved this book because it was so magical!!!!

Mummies: A Book Or Character That You Can’t Wrap Your Mind Around
eight days on planet earth

This book was so confusing!!!! I did not predict half of the plot twists!!! And there were a lot of plot twists. This book ruined me!!!! I did it for a blog tour yesterday!!!! If you want to hear my full thoughts on it you should go here.

Vampires: A Book, Series, or Author That You Can’t Live Without

The Harry Potter Series. Hands Down!!!!! I mean can you not think of a time when there is no Harry Potter. I think that the world would explode. Or implode. Something bad would happen. I loved it and if you have not read it you should.

Werewolves: A Book Best Read In The Middle Of The Night

th (8)

This book is so creepy!!!!! I read it during the day and was sort of annoyed for doing that because I think that it would have been good if it scared the crap out of me. It was meant to scare the crap out of me. And it didn’t so I ink that I will have to read it again in the middle of the night.

Zombies: A Book That You Picked Up A Second Time/Continued After DNFing It

None. After I DNF a book it is final. I just don’t read it or think about it anymore. Sorry.

Ghosts: A Book That You Easily Predicted A Twist Or Ending

For me the ending was obvious. I mean as soon as they made that announcement about two players from the same division could win I knew what the ending would be.  I won’t say because some people might not have read it. I recommend it.  I really enjoyed it!!!!!

Frakenstein: A Book That Truly Shocked You

downloadI know this sounds odd but why did he have to die?!!!!!! I was not expecting the ending because it was so sad!!!! I sobbed through the end of this book!!!! It is a great book and you should read it but be prepared to cry.

Skeletons: A Book That Chilled You To The Bone

See A Book Best Read In The Middle Of The Night. Even though I read that book in the daylight it still scared the @-#’#:-# out of me.

Ghouls: A Book That Left You Hungry

th (16)

This book made hungry for sugar cane pies.  The descriptions made my mouth water. I wanted to drive down there and buy the store just so that I could those pies.

Goblins: A Greedy Character

I had to copy Mandy’s answer. Kaz Brekker’s whole team! Is that not obvious?!!!!!! I highly recommend this book. I loved it and I hope that you do too.

Devil: A Dark, Evil Character

download (29)

Levana. I mentioned this the last time and I will mention it again! Levana is evil to the bone. Marissa Meyer is great at creating villains. I can’t wait to read more from her.

Grim Reaper: A Character That You Loved/Hated That Died

I am going to write this like you have all read the fifth Harry Potter book and if you haven’t you should just skip this. Sirius Black. I mean I love HP so how could you not have thought that I would put this in. It was so sad!!!!!

Scarecrow: A Book Or Character That Scared You

See Werewolves. Once again, even though I read this book in the daylight (and in summer, mind you) it still scared the #+@& out of me.

The Monster Mash: Tag Three Or More People To Do This Tag

Eight Days On Planet Earth: Blog Tour!!!!! — October 25, 2017

Eight Days On Planet Earth: Blog Tour!!!!!

Eight Days on Planet Earth tour banner (1)

eight days on planet earth.jpgHow long does it take to travel 13 light-years to Earth?

How long does it take to fall in love?

To the universe, eight days is a mere blip – but to Matty Jones, it might be just enough time to change his life.

On the hot summer day that Matty’s dad leaves for good, a girl appears in the empty field next to the Jones farm – the very field in rural Pennsylvania where a spaceship supposedly landed fifty years ago. She is uniquely beautiful, sweet, and smart, and she tells Matty she’s waiting for her spaceship to pick her up.

Of course she is.

Matty has heard all of the UFO stories for all his seventeen years: the conspiracy theories, the wild rumors, the crazy belief in life beyond the stars. As a kid, he searched the skies with his dad and studied the constellations. But all that is behind him now. Dad’s gone and Matty’s stuck.

But now there is Priya. The self-proclaimed alien girl. She must be crazy or high, right?

As Matty unravels the mystery of Priya, he realizes there is far more to her then he first imagined.

And if he can learn to believe in what he can’t see: the universe, aliens…love…then maybe the impossible can be possible after all.

Design O

I loved this book so much!!! It is so deep!!! You will sit there sobbing at the end of the book. There is a big plot twist and it kills you. You start believing in everything and then the end ruins you. It ruins you!!! I am not saying that this is a bad thing, though. It is a great thing!!! I don’t know what the story would have been like without it.

The characters were amazing!!! Matty as very realistic!!! He sounded like an average high school boy. Priya sounds like an average alien. If aliens are even average. I loved all the characters!!! They were so real and I lived them all!!! They were like my little babies. But that is enough about that. Let’s get on with the plot!!!!

The plot was awesome!!! I loved it!!! The writing style was very unique. It was just her style. It wasn’t drab or boring and it kept things going. Which is good in a contemporary fantasy because sometimes nothing happens and you sit wondering when something exciting is going to happen.Design O

About the Author

When I was a teenager, the very first book I ever tried to write was pretentious and stilted and set in a future where there was no paper. Obviously, I fancied myself the next Ray Bradbury (who I was thrilled to met not once but twice!). The book had an awesome title and no plot but I had the most fun creating the characters and the world that they lived in. That to me is the most enjoyable part of writing a novel: envisioning a world and populating it with all kinds of people and dogs. Gotta have a dog.

The worlds I create now as an adult are based on my travels from coast to coast in the US, to Europe and Mexico and Canada, and on the people I have met and admired and feared. And dogs. Design O

Well I loved this book so much and I hope that you all love it too. I highly recommend it.  Please read it. Remember to fill out my survey!!! You can find the link on my about page!!! Have a Great Day!!! Thanks for Reading!!! -Annalee and Buttons

A Court Of Thorns And Roses, by Sarah J. Mass — October 21, 2017

A Court Of Thorns And Roses, by Sarah J. Mass

download (31)Feyre didn’t mean to kill that wolf/fae. Okay, she did. But she knows the treaty and she doesn’t think that if you kill a fae that you have go live in fae lands for the rest of her life. But now that it happened she finds herself living in an estate of the High Lord of the Spring Court. And she is never allowed to go home. Feyre slowly finds herself accepting this. But she isn’t sure who accept that she is slowly falling for her captor…

One. I am sorry for not reading this sooner.  I wish I came across it earlier. Two. This book is awesome!!! I love it!!!! As soon as I finish writing this review I will start on the next one. Because that is what I what to do with my time. I can’t wait for the new novella to come out. But at least I have two other books to sustain me.

The characters were awesome!!!  They were so descriptive. The way that the characters were built was unlike anything I have ever read before. Although some of the things the characters said and did made me think of Twilight or Beauty and the Beast. I loved it!!!! I enjoyed the masks on the characters because it added depth and mystery to the story.  And that gave the characters five bonus points. I love bonus points. And I love giving them to characters. Who knew? Well, in short, the characters were really descriptive, unlike anything and yet what they said and was somehow related to Twilight and Beauty and the Beast (how does that work), and they were just awesome in general.

The plot was very interesting. I was entranced by the plot the whole way through the book. It was very mystifying and suspenseful. I loved the way the bargains came into play. The plot was awesome!!!! The three challenges reminded me of the Triwizard Tournament. In case you don’t remember that from Harry Potter. I do. That is my favorite series ever. I love that series. But I am not here to talk about that book, but to talk about The Court Of Thorns and Roses. Yay!!!! So this book was way better then I thought it would be. I thought that I would be giving it a three star rating but I didn’t. Do you want to know what I rated it? Wait and see.

So I lived this book and I hope that you do too. Please remember to fill out my survey. You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!!! Have a Great Day!!! -Annalee and Buttons

Hocus Pocus Book Tag

The Sanderson Sisters – A Great Trilogy

download (11)

I had to say A Wrinkle In Time because I love this trilogy so much and it is so good. If you have not read this trilogy then you should.

Winifred Sanderson – a book with a truly evil female villain

download (29)

Cinder has a truly evil female villain called Levana. I hate Levana. But I love this awesome cover. Tell me that it is not awesome!!!!!

Sarah Sanderson – A Book That Uncannily Attracts Children

download (30)

I had to steal Bookchanted’s answer for this one!!! I must agree with her. I have never met someone who has not read Matilda and loved it.  I know I did. If you have not read Matilda you should. You will love it.

Mary Sanderson – A Book That Is Just Plain Silly

download (2)

A princess who doesn’t want to be a princess. So because of that she runs off to work for dragons. I mean what is sillier then that? If you can think of a book funnier then that please tell me so that I can read it.

Max – a book that tries to be cool but doesn’t always succeed

download (7)

This book tried really hard to be cool. But it failed epically. And this book could have been so good…

Dani – a book that isn’t afraid to tell it like it is

download (27)

What better book for this then Moxie? It talks about the world of feminism like it is in real life. I would use this book to teach people about feminism.

Binx – a series that just won’t die

The Percy Jackson series. I hear that another book just came out in the third set of Percy Jackson Books. I know that we can expect at least 2 more.

Ice – a book with a character that is as dumb as a rock

Okay, so I hated this book. Never read it. Most of it’s characters were so stupid. Heck, all the main characters in this book were stupid. They made the most illogical choices ever.

The Black Flame Candle – a series that you wish you could resurrect

The Penderwicks. The series was so good and it made me cry so much. I loved this series and I wish that someone would write a fifth book. That would be amazing!!!

Headless Billy Buterchson – a book that is not as bad as people make it out to be

I have heard a lot of people say that they did not like this book. Wrong. I loved it!!! It was amazing!! I loved it!!

Winifred Sanderson’s Spell book: a book with a mind of it’s own

th (20)

After the first chapter I just gave up on guessing what happened next because there was so much to read and learn about in the book.

Gary Marshall – a book with a cameo

Also Warcross. For the same reason that Bookxhanted did it.

SPARKED: Blog Tour — October 16, 2017

SPARKED: Blog Tour

Sparked Cover

So I am part of the Sparked blog tour!!!! I loved this book and I got to interview the authors!!! So let’s do this thing!!!!

Sparked Summary: Fifteen year old Laurel Goodwin wakes to find her older sister Ivy missing from their Airstream trailer in the Oregon redwoods. A recurring dream convinces her that Ivy was abducted, not no one tales her dream seriously, even her mom. Laurel, a loner, has to learn to ask for help, and Jasper Blake, a mysterious new kid who shares her love of old books, becomes her ally.

Laurel soon learns that her worst enemies, mean girls Peyton Anderson and Mei Rosen are developing powers that she needs to find and save Ivy. With time running out, Laurel realizes that power doesn’t always take the form you expect. And once she learns to look beyond her snap judgements, she begins to develop powers on her own.

The Interview

1. Will there be a sequel – Helena: We do have a sequel all planned put and we’re working on it. If readers are interested – or if they have questions they want to be answered in the next book – please email us at sparkedwriters@gmail.com and we’ll send you the first chapter as soon as it’s ready.

2. What was your favorite character to write in this book – Melana: Laurel was our favorite but the scenes with Peyton and Mei (the mean girls who torment Laurel) were the most fun and easiest to write. The Laurel scenes are so intense – she’s desperately trying to find while the clock is ticking – that it always felt delicious  to take a break with two characters whose problems were a bit more manageable. Also, Peyton and Mei are pretty funny, though they don’t always intend to be,and I enjoyed writing their bitchy behavior.

3. What was the hardest part of writing this book – Helana: You would expect that collaborating would be the hardest part, and as we drafted Sparked, people asked us how we managed to write together – after all we’d both been solitary novelists before. But writing together was easy. We pounded out the first draft in a white-hot frenzy of inspiration we called the Vortex. One of us would write a scene and send it to the potjer with a note: My apartment is a pigsty and I haven’t eaten all day. #inthevortex

Melana: The hard part came when we reread everything and realized that it was not quite as good as we thought. The love triangle was gratuitous and the romance needed to be more believable. So we had to decide whether to ditch our book or rewrite it completely and this time, really put in the work to make it the kind of book that we both loved to read, one with real, complicated, flawed characters, dark humor, and a sense of mystery. Getting that right took many, many drafts.

4. Who is Sparked meant for – Melana: When we wrote this book we had a very clear idea of who the reader was.  A thirteen year old girl who stayed up all night with a flashlight in order to find out the twist in the latest novel by Lois Duncan. A fifteen year old devouring everything by Stephan King. A kid who takes Carrie on a camping trip with her best friend and rips the paperback apart so that they can read it simultaneously, shrieking and staying up all night. In other words we wrote it for the girls we used to be. For any teenager, male or female, who loves a story that won’t let you go, with plenty of horror and humor, and a dash of romance.

Helana: We also wrote it for their moms. It’s no coincidence that we dreamed up this book when our kids were preschoolers. When you spend so much time worrying about when you need to get new sneakers for your kid and whether the dishwasher is really broken this time, it’s incredibly relaxing to escape into a story about a girl who has to save her sister and the entire world.

5. What would your power be? Would you flare out – Helana: The powers are pretty scary ones – like being able to hear everyone’s deepest darkest secrets – and the girls were scared of them for good reason. I don’t really want any of the powers in this book. I suppose that it’s most responsible to say I’d be able to fly into the ozone layer and purge it of green house gasses but failing that, I’d have the power of snapping my fingers instantly and having all the boring daily tasks done instantly – like the dishwasher unloading itself. Then I could concentrate on things I like, like writing.

Melana: Being able to write perfect pages of fiction with no revisions needed. As for flaring out, I would do so in a heartbeat. I think that when your a teenager, closing between your power and your lover seems like an equally weighted choice – at least it does to our heroine – but as you grow up you realize that love beats having power hands down.

Helana: Also, whereas in the book you have to choose between love and power, as you grow up you realize that you can have both. In a good relationship, you don’t have to make that choice. If your in love with the right person, you don’t have to give up any part of yourself.

This book was as funny as the last one. I mean it. If you want a funny story you should read it. You get introduced to a whole new cast of characters. That amazes me. Now I am going to cry because I don’t want the series to end. But all good things have to end so let me end this series with a good review.

Once again the author amazes me with the fact that she can introduce a whole new cast of characters and rock them. All of the characters are so interesting!!!! I like Shira the best. She was very funny when she had to learn to be polite. Although I was sort of sad because you didn’t see as much of the old characters. But the new characters managed to uphold the funny standards that I have of this book. I mean series. But still all the characters were very funny. Even the stupid prince and princess were funny. And were not on the stage for that long. It was amazing!!!! I loved all the characters. Like I do for the rest of the books in this series. Well, to stop me from fangirling the rest of the review. I should get on with the plot.

The plot was just as good as the characters. Except that the plot wasn’t as funny. But it was darker then the other plots in the book. That conveyed a feeling of desperation in the book. Which made me read faster then ever. 2 hours. It took me two hours to finish this book? Mind blown. I wonder if that’s a world record. I could be famous!!!! Well, let’s get back on topic now. The plot did it’s job and kept me engaged and enticed. Some books cannot do that for me. Well, most books keep me engaged but not enticed. Or the other way around. I loved this book. You should really read it. It is awesome. Please read it! I want you too.
