Soon, however, he learns of a plot to destroy of his new home, a plot only the Phantom can foil.

That summary was a little bit long, don’t you think? I do. Well, this is my third blog tour ever so I hope that I don’t mess this one up. I really enjoyed this book. It is a very well written MG adventure story. The characters were realistic. I loved how the hero was a twelve – year – old kid. Normally, when reading MG adventures the hero is 13 to 15. It infuriates me (except in the case of Ranger’s Apprentice) because anyone can be a hero. Now let’s stop listening to me rant about this and instead get on with the review.

The characters were very in depth and real. I loved them. There was lots of diversity in this book which made me really happy because we don’t see much of that in MG novels. In the other MG series I am reading there is no diversity. That upsets me from time to time. I really liked Caroline Crawford. She could have turned out to be really mean and snobby to Peter but instead she chose to be really nice. I always love the could be mean but they aren’t characters. They make me feel like the world could be good after all.

The way the characters developed made me very happy. They grew as people and learned that they should help the less fortunate. Some characters in MG books stay the same and that makes me upset. I love how the side characters were quite funny and odd. They always made me laugh.

The plot was very interesting as well. I mean, it is a MG adventure novel. Why wouldn’t the plot be interesting? Well, now that I think about it, if the book was poorly written then of course the plot would probably not be very interesting. I loved the writing style. It interested me. The plot twist was totally unpredicted. I was really shocked at what happened. The chapters were named brilliantly. I loved this book so much. How do I say that I loved this book to pieces.

The setting was very well done. It may have also helped that I had a map in the front of the book. I could envision myself in some places. Not in others though. That was my only problem in this book. I felt like the setting could have been better. But even that is not a major issue. I loved this book and I hope that you do as well.

Sorry for the really short (actually it seems really short but it is like 600 words, a new record for me) review. I am writing this ahead of time and scheduling it so that I don’t have to do it the night before. Please remember to fill out my survey. You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!!! Have a Great Day!!!! -Annalee and Buttons
